The Los Angeles Lakers took Game 1 of the Western Conference finals with a 126-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 33 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony Davis added 27 points and 10 rebounds. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
The Nuggets were favored by six points in Game 1, but the Lakers came out strong and never trailed. James and Davis were too much for the Nuggets to handle, and the Lakers shot 51.3% from the field.
The Nuggets will need to make some adjustments if they want to win Game 2. They will need to find a way to stop James and Davis and they will need to shoot the ball better from the field. The Lakers are a tough team to beat, but the Nuggets have shown that they can compete with them.
Game 2 of the Western Conference finals will be played on Sunday night at 7:00 PM PT on ABC.
